October 22, 2010 - Offseason Report
It is unofficially considered the off-season for Joel Jens Racing, but that has not slowed or stopped the 14 year old driver in anyway. More than
half way thru this off season, Joel has been active in school as he has entered the 9th grade and a challenging class schedule. Also, Joel has begun
his schedule of hockey with the Manitowoc Breakers which keeps him in shape and helps build the endurance and stamina needed for the grueling karting
requirements. On the racing side of Joel’s life many decisions are being calculated and discussed as this is the time that the coming
years’ schedules, series, and requirements are aligned to contribute to that desired successful year. Also, sponsorship packages are in the
works and being finalized with others. New chassis are arriving and being prepared for testing in the coming days in preparation for the SKUSA 14th
annual SuperNationals held in Las Vegas, new engine packages are also being tested. Seems like just yesterday that the season was ending in New
Jersey, but the annual pilgrimage to the City of Lights in the desert for the most prestigious karting event in the US is on the mind of every kart
racers mind. Joel has is goals set on standing on the top step of the pedestal of the Junior TAG division podium. With the entries limited to 80
participants in his class, Joel realizes that everything must be in place and perfectly prepared to take to the track for this race.
After the
Las Vegas race there, there is a slight lull in the racing action for the holidays, but right back to the track the day after Christmas for the World
Karting Associations annual event in Daytona Florida. Check back regularly as updates will be posted about the results from the SuperNationals as well
as other important announcements about the coming year.
